Science Lab at St. John Fisher University

The scholars attend Chemistry Lab at SJFU. The Juniors and Seniors are studying the formation of polymer “worms" using sodium alginate (from seaweed) and fluorescent dyes. We also observed flame colors that result from burning different salts (copper blue, lithium pink, etc.).

On March 25 the 10th grade students attended their monthly Biology Lab at St. John Fisher University. This time they were hosted by 2 senior Biology majors, Owen and Riley, who guided them through the dissection of 3 vertebrate animals: Pig, Rat and Shark.  Some students were more enthusiastic than others, but all got to learn about anatomy and physiology and to interact with college students planning to enter medical school in the Fall.

The scholars have a wonderful opportunity to attend Biology and Chemistry Lab at

St. John Fisher University. It is an occasion for them to learn their course discipline as well as get a taste of learning on a college campus. They also attend daily mass there.
