The announcement below was issued by the Chesterton Academy of Rochester Board of Directors on April 21, 2026.
Dear Community of Chesterton Academy of Rochester,
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Board of Directors of Chesterton Academy of Rochester is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Joshua Belokur as our next Headmaster, effective July 1, 2026.
After a thorough and prayerful search process, the Board is confident that Mr. Belokur is well equipped to lead our school into its next chapter—faithful to our mission and committed to forming joyful leaders and saints through the classical liberal arts and the truths of the Catholic faith. Throughout the discernment process, he demonstrated a deep alignment with Chesterton Academy’s vision, a love for students and families, and a strong understanding of the responsibilities entrusted to the Headmaster’s role. Â
Mr. Belokur has meaningful experience in the local classical education community, both as a homeschooler and as a middle school teacher with St. John Bosco Schools. Additionally, he brings to Chesterton the perspective of a loving father and husband, an understanding of adolescent formation, and a sincere desire to help young people develop a relationship with Jesus Christ, along with a deep love of the Catholic faith. He understands the necessary partnership between school and family, and the daily work of supporting scholars both academically and spiritually. Mr. Belokur will guide Chesterton Academy of Rochester in a campaign of academic enrichment and enrollment growth.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. David Klosterman for his steady leadership during a critical season in our school’s life. His service helped stabilize and strengthen our community, and we thank God for the foundation he has helped lay for the future of Chesterton Academy of Rochester.
As we look ahead, we ask you to join us in prayer for Mr. Belokur, for our faculty and staff, and for our scholars and families. We are confident that God’s providential hand continues to guide our school, and we move forward with hope, unity, and trust in His plan.
Additional opportunities to welcome Mr. Belokur and to connect as a community will be shared in the coming weeks.
In Christ,
Jeffrey Rembold
Chair, Board of Directors
