G.K. Chesterton's 150th Birthday

Traveling to a graduation in England, and as a little gesture to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of G. K. Chesterton's birth on behalf of our school, we paid a visit to the house where he was born and to the church, a few blocks away, where he was baptized. The house, located in Kensington, a borough on the west side of London, is now a private residence, but Chesterton's birth is marked by a plaque above the front door. St. Mary Abbots nearby is a beautiful church with stained glass windows and an ornate baptismal font. On the same day we algo got to visit the nearby Natural History Museum and the Brompton Oratory, dedicated to Saint John Henry Newman, another remarkable English convert.
